Central California Power House

The Tulare Tar Heel Youth Football Program is one of California’s 8th grade powerhouses. Since their 9 year existence The Tulare Tar Heels have been on the top of the hill in the All Valley Youth Football Conference. The Tar Heels have had 7 appearances in the AVYFL Championship game and have won 6 championships. This Sunday November 8th in Exeter California the Tulare Tar Heels will play a very tough Porterville Cougars team, for a chance at their 7th Valley Championship. Tar Heels Head Coach Brent Beck made the following statement about his team.

“I feel blessed to have come full circle with this team. I started the Tar Heels in 2006 and after being away for a few years I was able to come back and coach this group of young men, this very special group.  These young men have worked their tails off for this coaching staff throughout the season with record breaking performances and a very low moment in week five losing to Hanford. The boys were able to write that bad performance off by beating Hanford in the semi’s last Saturday 36-31 and now find themselves on the doorstep of finishing what they started in June, bringing home another Sr division Championship.  We have our work cut out for us this Sunday versus a very physical opponent; Porterville.  We faced off in passing league several times in some extremely competitive games and this Sunday evening will be all of that and more!  I’m extremely proud of all my players on and off the field; they will always be a part of my Tar Heel family!”

The Tar Heels will play Porterville this Sunday in the Valley Championship and try to defend last year’s championship. The game will be at Exeter High School and the time is TBA.
